History

The Kansas Association of Therapeutic Massage was founded in 1984 by a small group of professional massage therapists and body workers. KATM became a state chapter of the International Myomassethics Federation.  In 1997, the KATM membership voted for incorporation, to separate from IMF and become a separate entity.  The membership also voted to extend the membership to include other body workers and to change the organizational name to KATMB, INC.
